SAFETY INDUCTION COURSE

INTRODUCTION

Employers must provide safety training for their employees suitable to the nature of the work involved. This course is tailored to the specific requirements of that workplace. To comply with Health and Safety legislation and increasingly the requirements of Insurance companies, employers should run this course.

New and existing employees. Managers and supervisors are also encouraged to attend.

To enable employees to reduce the likelihood of injury to themselves and others.

OBJECTIVES

The participant will be able to:

Briefly state the legal requirements of employers and employees in relation to Health and Safety.
List the key causes of death and injury to persons in their sector of employment.
Identify workplace hazards and means of reducing the attendant risks.
Describe ways of reducing risks to themselves, their co-workers, and any other persons who may be affected.
