FIRE SAFETY AND EVACUATION

INTRODUCTION

Employers must prepare adequate plans for emergencies such as fire. This course shows employees the importance of fire prevention and containment, and what to do should fire break out. A fire drill involving evacuation of the building will be carried out. To comply with Health and Safety legislation and increasingly the requirements of Insurance companies, employers should run this course.

OBJECTIVES

The participant will be able to:

1. Identify where fires occur.

2. List common causes of in the workplace.

3. State key strategies for preventing fires.

4. List means of containing fire.

5. Describe the action that should be taken in the event of a fire.

6. Respond appropriately during a practice fire drill.
